EAD pathway expression on circulating PMNs. Young and old male C57BL/6 mice were infected i.t. with 5 × 104 CFU S. pneumoniae TIGR4. Blood was collected and stained for PMNs and adenosine receptors. Percent expression at baseline (A) and MFI over time (B) was determined using flow cytometry. Replicates are pooled from 4 separate experiments with n = 6–9 mice per group. Asterix indicate significant difference as determined by unpaired students t-test (A) and significantly different from one as determined by 1-sample t-test (C). (B) # indicate significance from uninfected baseline as determined by Kruskal Wallis followed by Dunn’s Multiple comparison test
